Zao's Aloe Vera Mascara delivers intense definition, volume and durability with its clever structured lash-by-lash brush wand. Its nourishing formula cares for your lashes with organic aloe vera, castor oil and shea butter whilst coating your lashes from root to tip with intense colour. Perfect for evening wear, this mascara will gives your lashes va-va-voom! This product is the refill for the bamboo packaged mascara.
Formulated without synthetic preservatives and with high quality raw materials, this mascara reduces the risk of redness and irritation to your eyes. Suitable for regular use and sensitive eyes. Our mascara is now refillable to reduce waste.
Please note that we have enhanced the Aloe vera mascara with an ingredient upgrade. The new formula is now available in black, with brown to follow as stocks deplete. As such, the ingredients are slightly different for each shade at this time, as detailed in the description below.
A wand is included due to hygiene regulations, but please note that a lot of wildlife charities will take old mascara wands as they are extremely useful for removing things such as fly eggs and larva from the fur and feathers of animals.

Organic aloe vera gel: Known for its soothing virtues, organic aloe vera gel repairs and soothes the contours of the most delicate eyes.
Organic acacia gum: Acacia gum or gum arabic is derived from the resin secreted by the Acacia Senegal tree. Used as an adhesive agent, it improves the hold of Zao mascaras.
Organic carnauba wax: Secreted by the leaves of a palm tree native to Brazil, this wax is a film- forming agent that protects skin through the production of a continuous film and thus improves makeup durability.

Organic aloe vera juice (Aloe barbadensis leaf juice): The aloe vera plant is renowned for its use in natural medicine for centuries, and is used in our mascara for its abilities to treat conjunctivitis and other eye allergies. Known for its soothing qualities, organic aloe vera juice nourishes and fortifies eyelashes.
Organic castor oil (Ricinus communis seed oil): Castor oil has purifying, nourishing and fortifying qualities, due to its richness in fatty acids and vitamin E.
Organic shea butter (Butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter): Shea butter is extracted from the fruits of the shea tree, which only grows in West Africa. Its richness in fatty acids promotes nourishment and moisture retention to skin. Recommended as a stimulant to wound healing, it is also protective against UV with soothing and calming qualities.
Packaged in a unique, varnished bamboo case and attractively presented in a bamboo pouch with drawstring, Zao makeup is both a beautiful gift and an item to treasure.
Instructions for use: Start with the upper lashes, holding the brush horizontally close to the root, move up in a zigzag motion while you are looking down. Concentrate on the ends to enlarge the eye and on the centre to open up the eyes. Gently tap the eye lashes when applying mascara to the lower lashes, ensuring that you don’t overload them.

Some tips for a quick and easy beauty routine: before you put on mascara, always make sure your eyelashes are dry and free of cream or oil, then dust them with powder. This preparation will ensure your mascara won''t smudge and will last even longer. Open the mascara gently and in one movement! Avoid pumping to keep the product on the brush, but make sure that you haven’t overloaded it. If so, gently remove any excess with a tissue and not at the opening of the bottle. If you have a few drops of mascara on your skin after you’ve applied it, wait until it is dry, then gently wipe it off with a cotton swab. If you are already wearing foundation, you can also dab a little on the cotton swab before removing the mascara to ensure your complexion remains even.

We now offer delivery to European countries with ROYAL MAIL TRACKED & SIGNED. Under normal circumstances deliveries to European countries will take between 4 to 6 working days from dispatch.
